Oregon Red Dulse Seaweed
Featuring Ingredients From Oregon Seaweed
One pound fresh Dulse; no additives.
Dulse seaweed is a versatile sea vegetable that can be added to almost any dish, providing a smoky, savory flavor and a bit of texture. We feature it at The Salmonberry in our mignonette for fresh Netarts oysters. When eaten raw, it has a fresh ocean taste; salty and crunchy and surprisingly refreshing. Try it as a salad with sesame oil and seeds alongside albacore crudo. Cooking enhances its savoriness – tossed with olive oil over medium high heat in a pan or oven it will turn green and wilt first like spinach, but with added cooking time achieves a delectable crispiness.
Oregon Red Dulse is a complete protein, a good source of iodine, fiber, and potassium as well as vitamin B12. And it’s not only good for human health, but also for the health of the planet! For every four pounds of Dulse grown, one pound of carbon is absorbed. Oregon Seaweed farm is located on the waterfront at the Port of Garibaldi, providing the coastline with a sustainable superfood in the form of fresh Dulse.
